In 2013, young breast cancer survivors Chelsea Harper and Brook Irwin co-authored “The Storybook Project,” an innovative, personalized book designed to help “mamas talk to their kiddos about breast cancer.” They raised over $19,000 in a grassroots effort to print, assemble, and distribute a limited edition of their book to families across the United States. Their hope was that this book would be available to many other mamas coping with the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. “The Storybook Project,” illustrated by Penny Hood, represents their enduring love for their own children and other children affected by breast cancer.
Our team is in the process of reissuing in a new, softcover workbook in the Fall of 2019. Stay Tuned . . .
Although Brook and Chelsea are no longer with us and their families, we are continuing their work! Generous donations to support the next phase of the Storybook Project have gone directly to reformatting, registration, and reprinting as well as making the books widely available by low-to-no-cost Print-On-Demand—delivering this resource to the organizations and families who need it. We are grateful for your support.
